My Story

Wesley Liversage Knives was founded in South Africa in 2017, driven by a deep passion for craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design.

I have long admired the artistry of custom-made knives and built a small collection over the years. After attending a local knife show in Durban, I realised that knife making was something I wanted to pursue seriously—and that moment marked the beginning of my journey as a maker.

To achieve the level of fit and finish I hold myself to, I sought guidance from an experienced craftsman with a keen eye for detail. I completed a knifemaking course under Stefan Diedericks, which proved invaluable in mastering the finer aspects of the craft and provided a strong technical foundation.

Following this, I chose to focus on Loveless-style knives, inspired by the timeless designs and exceptional work of Bob Loveless. His influence continues to shape my approach to both form and function.

One of my proudest achievements was being inducted into the South African Knife Makers Guild, an honour that reflects a commitment to quality, ethics, and craftsmanship as judged by my peers.

Today, I focus on creating knives that are both beautiful and highly functional—pieces made to be used, appreciated, and passed down for generations.
